Jim Gibbs has tried more than 75 cases to verdict in Oklahoma. He was an active trial lawyer for over 27 years, trying cases in both state and federal courts.  Jim’s practice concentrated in civil litigation involving professional and general negligence, civil rights, governmental tort claims, business disputes, insurance related issues including extra contractual liability and dispute resolution.  This led to him serving as a mediator for over 7 years. In January of this year Jim took over Dispute Resolution Consultants from its founder, Joseph Paulk. 

Jim attended the University of Oklahoma obtaining a B.B.A. in 1990 and his juris doctorate in 1994.  He is licensed and admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state and federal courts, licensed in all Texas courts, the Muskogee (Creek) Nation, the Paiute Supreme Court, the United Keetoowah Bank of Cherokee Indians Tribal Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. 

Jim has been named an Oklahoma SuperLawyer and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Federal, American, Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma County Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute, the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel, and the American Inns of Court, where he was the past President of Luther Bohanon Court.

Jim lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with his wife Shaunagh.  They have three children attending college.
