Michael L. Carr
Mike Carr is a trial lawyer with more than 25 years’ experience litigating complex civil disputes in state and federal trial and appellate courts in Oklahoma and neighboring states, as well as before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Over the course of his career, he has successfully defended clients against a broad range of tort claims, including those involving civil rights, employment, insurance coverage and bad faith, E&O liability, product liability, professional liability, medical malpractice, industrial accidents, trucking accidents, catastrophic workplace injuries, and wrongful death. He has additionally mediated disputes involving construction claims, auto negligence, personal injury, consumer claims, and complex business transactions.
Much of Mike’s current practice is devoted to representing insurance carriers of all sizes in litigation involving insurance coverage disputes, property damage claims, and uninsured motorist insurance claims, as well defending insurers against allegations of bad faith, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence, and violations of state consumer protection laws. He also counsels clients on claims handling and coverage issues and has delivered presentations to insurers nationwide on numerous issues related to liability, litigation strategy, and litigation avoidance.
A portion of Mike’s practice is dedicated to serving as outside counsel for municipal and political subdivisions for a number of claims involving civil rights, employment litigation, tort claims, and property and casualty claims.
Mike has tried more than 30 cases to verdict and is a 2006 graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy at Stanford University. His achievements as a trial lawyer have earned him inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers and an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
